What is a Lawhobbiest? A Lawhobbiest is a person with a natural interest in law. The interest is such that one will take time to look into a circumstance on one's own to the point one must reread, reread, check the information over and get things right so one can ponder the event correctly. The Lawhobbiest may want to compare notes with family and friends to get their take on it, or talk to an authority like an Attorney, Accountant, Teacher ect.
Ok, we have a definition of what a Lawhobbiest is, which I believe will be improved as time goes by as more informed people may advise ( the writer is a lay person). We come to the question why a place like this is on the internet? This is a place where a person can list the disagreement one may have with the Law and if they wish, tell their Law Story. The Law is called into a mix and asked to sort things out and calm the waters. A very difficult job. It is the difficulty of calming the waters where one may have a disagreement with the Law. The Law Story part is a place to publish law stories to the world, a place where people can come in and read the stories and that way gain understanding and knowledge of Law.
The Law we have came from England, the basics of it is named Common Law. Where did Common Law get law? It is a composite of what the early people had from their fathers and mothers and what came across the English Chanel from Europe. Where did Europe get law? Europe got law from Rome, Sparta, Athens, Constantinople, and all the old and Great Civilizations. Law got where it is and how it is simply by the movement and flux of population and the application of all mores (customs) on the continuous circumstance developed by life. Law is not all good. The mafia has its law. The Nazi has his. I tried to write Nazi with a lower case "n" but the program I use will not let me. That is an example of writing law and my disagreement with it.
To start, The LawHobbiest Site for now is a massage board. Please keep your post to Disagreements with the Law and your Law Stories. A disagreement is not a complaint. A complaint implies one wants the law to do something and usually in support of the complainer. A disagreement with Law is a view not supported by existing Law or Statute but possibly could be. Our abortion law is in that realm; some people want to keep it as it is, and others have a disagreement with the law and want the law changed. The thinking of those that want the law changed is not supported by law and so are disagreements. As Lawhobbies we are not allowed to give legal help; we are not qualified to do so. We can tell law stories that we have been involved in. People may read the stories and gain knowledge and possible entertainment. Someone with authority may read the stories and want to give help, advice or both. Are Message Board is here:
